Do I have to be 21 to purchase a beer brewing kit?

I want to get one from our local natural foods store to give to my dad for Christmas but I am 19. I live in Maine, not sure if the rules vary by state if there are any.

shouldnt have to be technically. theres no alcohol in it. but thats a good question

  2. no, not in wisconsin at least. i know an 18 year old that has been brewing for a few years, so it's totally fine here…

  3. I don't know for sure and it may vary by state but it should be legal to buy the kit. It is likely illegal for you to drink the beer you brew though. If your parents are ok with it I doubt anyone will put up much of a fuss.
